In this next photo, even through the clouds you can make out the beginning of the Baily Beads effect, those sparkling little specks at about 7 o,clock on the disk, morphing from the Diamond ,ight effect. That’s right, today I’m writing about the Great American Eclipse! I was originally going to shoot everything on manual but that strategy quickly went south as the clouds started rolling in. We did have time on our side. We were getting close now. I know that sounds crazy for a professional photographer to say but after about an hour of trial and error I thought I had developed a satisfactory eclipse routine with my tripod.
